spelled the hats of the Senior Marching Band members in their special performance at the last home football game. With songs such as &#8220;She Believes in Me&#8221; and &#8220;Taking Care of Business&#8221; the Marching Band set the pace for a busy year. They performed at halftime and in the stands at football games, attended numerous festivals, marched in the American Legion Christmas Parade in Cleveland, and took a spring trip to Williamsburg, Virginia. <\/em><\/p> <p><em>Festivals for the year added plaques and trophies to the Marching Band&#8217;s collections. The six festivals included Dover on Sept. 12, Elyria on Sept 9, Amherst on Sept 26, Edison on Oct. 7, and Rittman on Oct. 24. Their own home festival, the Woolybear Marching Band Festival, was held on Saturday, Oct. 3. That night band members housed the guest band from Ida, Michigan, who stayed to perform in the Woolybear parade on Sunday. Both bands enjoyed a party Saturday night at Jennifer Webb&#8217;s home. <\/em><\/p> <p><em>The band activities didn&#8217;t end in the fall. On May 6-9, they traveled to Williamsburg, Virginia, to participate in the Fiesta Val Music. This trip combined the thrill of sightseeing with the honor of performing. Also in May, the band marched at Cedar Point and the following day performed in the Vermilion Memorial Day Parade. <\/em><\/p> <p><em>Mr. Henry worked hard to keep the band on their toes. Routines and songs changed with each home game, and the Festival shows switched halfway through the season. Help came from an official majorette advisor, Mrs. Dawn Clark, who helped the majorette perfect their routines. <\/em><\/p> <p><em>The band officers, President Rob (Monkey) Jones, and Vice President, Virginia (Ginny) Dechant, helped lead the band. they were in charge of meetings and car washes. <\/em><\/p> <p><em>Band members enjoyed the year.
